Weekend Reel all set to get this party started. There are a lot of things going on, a lot of cool little tidbits and miscellany ready to be shared. The Reel will feel pretty hefty with some cool vids, cool tunes, and cool people. What’s not to like?

Artist: Kid Sister
Song: I’ll House You (Jungle Bros Remix)
Artist: Julian Plenti
Song: Fun That We Have

Modest Mouse Get Their “Satellite Skin”

The song is throwback Modest Mouse, a little fast and loose but the lyrics always pull you back in. The video is great with a birdhouse with legs, aliens, a sky full of birds and an eye replacement ritual. Just another day in the office I guess.

Little Joy Spreads “The Next Time Around”

The tour won’t have Fabrizio Moretti with them (he’s too busy with The Strokes), but this latest single should help brighten your spirits. This wonderfully shot 8MM is nostalgia personified, as the band takes a beach holiday.

Le Roux Introduces “Bulletproof”

Making waves across the pond, Le Roux is finally breaking into America. The “Bulletproof” formula combines the 80s, electronic music and pop sensibilities into something that straddles the line between modern and nostalgia. The video is a visual representation of that, with classic colors, and a retro feel. What do you think, the next big thing or lost in the pack? If anything, the hair is awesome.

Our Phoenix Love Affair Continues

I think it’s at a consensus right now that 2009 is the year of Phoenix. Head over to Dazed Digital for an awesome interview and great video for “1901″. The video is amazingly shot, with some great style choices, camera angles and lighting effects.

Kitsune Helps Out, Provides perfect Summer Weather

Pretty cool collaboration between Kitsune and Cobrasnake. Check out the beginning in “I’ll Get You” by Classixx featuring Jeppe. Expect plenty more from this collaboration.

30 Rock Feels Charitable

Well, for one person at least. Milton Greene needs a kidney, and Jack Donaghy will do everything in his power to give it to him. The star studded cast that contributed to the song includes Clay Aiken, Elvis Costello, Mary J. Blige, Sheryl Crow, Mike D from the Beastie boys, Steve Earle, Adam Levine, Adam Horovitz, Sara Bareilles, Wyclef Jean, Norah Jones, Talib Kweli, Michael McDonald, Rhett Miller, Moby, Robert Randolph, Rachael Yamagata and Cyndi Lauper. Check out the official Kidney Now site.
